MGCCQ HILLCLIMB SERIES, Rd 3 - 29 - 30 April, 2023

Here are the results and split times from the recent Hillclimb event at Mt Cotton.  The club would also like to extend its thanks to those that assisted with the repair of catch fencing across a number of incidents.  It was unfortunate that an effective repair was unable to be carried out in a time that would have allowed for competition to recommence.  Your understanding is apreciated.

The fastest time of day set during Round 3 of the club hillclimbs was 36.83 seconds. Dean Amos driving his Gould GR55B McLaren V8 set this time on the third runs on Saturday. David Quelch was second quickest in his Homebuilt DPQ03 with a 40.96 time then Luke Weiks 42.81 seconds in his 999 ccs Empire 1 racing car. Warwick Hutchinson encountered engine trouble being no compression in the Rotors in his OMS Rotary Powered Vehicle (42.95 seconds) then Matt Read in his Readster MRT1 (43.69) and Greg Tebble (Formula 1000 Spreads, 998 engine capacity, 43.71).

The sedan cars saw the usual close times within the Anable family in their BMW cars. Scott Anable (45.24 seconds) from Doug Anable (45.82 seconds) then Chris Ryan (turbocharged Volkswagen Golf R, 46.82) and Glenn Anable (BMW, 47.24), Jeff Daniels (turbocharged Ford Escort, 49.14) with Waco Hamlin (Honda Civic, 49.15 seconds) being the top six in the sedan classes.
